Championship: A little luck never hurt...

$3300 + $200 Championship Deep Stack Double Play NLH (Re-Entry)

Blinds 5K/10K Ante 1K

Runner runner to stay alive!

There are 49 players remaining with an average stack of 728K (73 big blinds). Among the recently departed is Tyler Patterson who lost most of his stack with a suited AQ against pocket kings. Paul Volpe looked as if he was going to be joining Tyler on the rail when he got his short stack in, also with AQ, against pocket jacks and the flop came A♣J♣6. A miracle runner runner in the form of the Q♣A though gave Volpe a bigger full house to keep him alive at 320K.

Alex Rocha's stack keeps fluctuating but he's able to add to his stack by picking up big hands at the right time. Case in point, he three bets Johnson Nguyen's opening raise only looking at one card... an ace. The player to his immediate left moved all in. "Ooooh, let's wake up one time," Rocha told me is what he was thinking after Nguyen folded. Wake up indeed. His other card was an ace.
