Event 12: Flopped Set No Good in Texas Hold'em

$400 + $50 H.O.R.S.E.

Level 7: Limits 400/800

Froom's Set Flushed

"Flop a set of Aces on the button and don't win," laments Scott Froom (Philadelphia, PA) who is part of a three-way chop in a round of Texas Hold'em.

"I don't know what I was doing in the hand," says Patricia Yannuzzi (Westfield, NJ), "but when he calls, I call," referring to Frank Alger (Colonial Beach, VA).

There's a flush on the board and not one player holds a club, as Yannuzzi's JJ and Alger's KQ get a reprieve.

"The tournament began with (limits) 300/600," says borgata trophy winner Tim D'Alessandro (West Chester, PA). He doesn't like early slow pace and arrived late, as did three-time trophy holder Barry "The Pirate" Levy (Brooklyn, NY).

"It would be hard to be out right now," says Levy, who won this event in the 2011 Borgata Fall Poker Open, noting that things will pick up after the dinner break.

More than 100 players are in the field with registration closed.
