Event 15 - I was the chip leader at this table...

$350 + $50 Seniors (50+) No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Blinds 2K/4K Ante 400

"Miami" John Cernuto is still very much alive in the Seniors Event. Cernuto, who has 5.4 million dollars in lifetime tournament earnings recently won two big pots to take the chip lead at his table. On the first hand, John held pocket kings and trapped his opponent into committing all his chips with AQ on a Q♠J75♣ turn. John had to fade some outs but was able to do so to win the huge pot. A few hands later after a raise to 11K and a call of that raise, Cernuto made it 28K to go. The original raiser folded but a short stacked Larry Franks decided he was willing to gamble his last 45K with A5 and moved all in. It was an easy call for John with aces and after he was done stacking his chips he was up to almost 250K and was the clear chip leader at his table.

That table chip lead would not last long, however, as a table was broken and joining Cernuto's table was tournament chip leader Franklin Pierce (Red Bank, NJ) who came to the table with approximately 350K in chips. Pierce was the benefactor of aces on back to back hands, including one hand where his opponent moved all in over the top of him with pocket 9's. On the final hand of his old table, Pierce felted another player with pocket 6's on a 7-7-4 board when his opponent held Q-4 and was unable to improve. Should be an interesting table with all those chips sitting there.
