It's another close call for Andrew Jeffrey, but the poker pro has to settle for his second runner-up finish of the Borgata Poker Open.
"It sucks," he says about finishing second to Antonio Amato, "to get this close and not get the trophy."
Jeffrey had Amato drawing to a four-outer for the title, but Amato hit a gutshot straight on the river and doubled-up before winning a few hands later.
On the final hand, Jeffrey's pocket 5s are beaten by A-8 when Amato flops an 8 and rivers trips.
Earlier in the series, Jeffrey finished second to Johnson Nguyen in Event 8 ($560 entry) for a $67,000 payday, the largest of his tournament career.
Jeffrey adds $9,971 for this runner-up finish, the second largest of his career.
